Wedding Colour Theme: Berry
When it comes to winter weddings there are a number of directions you could go with your colour scheme. Red, green and white is traditional and classic, white and silver contemporary and elegant, deep coffee shades lend an air of rustic and berry is rich and sumptuous. Today we’ll be talking through all things berry, think deep shades of blackberry, cranberry and raspberry, offset with shades of blush and accents of gold. The darker shades lend themselves beautifully to a sophisticated colour palette but there is no reason why you could opt for a range of different berry shades as they all work wonderfully together. You could also trade the blush for greys or blacks for a moodier theme.
Bridesmaid dresses
If you are opting for a range of berry shades, you could opt to let each maid choose a dress in the shade she feels most comfortable in. Choose dresses in the same style if you would like to keep uniformity otherwise the fact that they are all shades of berry will tie them together wonderfully.
Flowers
Depending on the range of berry shades you are going for, you could opt for a number of different florals. Some of our favourites to use in berry bouquets are, viburnum berries in a shade of deep blue, these look stunning with bouquets in shades of berry purple and dahlias in deep shades also work beautifully in berry themed bouquets. Speak to your florist about other blooms in deep shades of berry in the winter months. One touch we adore for this theme is tying the bouquet together with a velvet ribbon.
Table settings
When it comes to table settings think blooms in shades of berry, and accents of gold – we love lots of gold tea light holders and gold charger plates. If you have gone for a darker berry theme or mixed in black, break up the darkness with lots of candles in different sizes, this will look illuminous and stunning.
Cake
Our favourite with this theme is a naked cake adorned with berries and topped with flowers – delicious and beautiful.
