Some circumstances can’t be helped but if you’re running late please call ahead, we really appreciate it. If guests are running late, the original booking time may no longer be available but we will endeavour to seat you at the next available time slot that does not disrupt service or affect other guests. If you no longer need your reservation we ask that you call or email at the earliest convenience so we can offer the table to other customers. Our tables are in high demand at weekends and NO SHOWS result in loss of revenue for our small business. During our busy periods we politely request the table be returned as follows

  • Tables of 1 - 2 People we would require the table back 90 minutes after booking time
  • Tables of 3 – 6 People 120 minutes
  • Tables of 7-20 People– 150 minutes
  • Tables of 21 – 30 People – 180 minutes

Tables sitting down at 8:30/9/9:30pm shall not be required back for any other bookings. If this may be an issue you can contact Black Iron and we can see where we can make more time available to you.


Children under the age of 12 are welcome to dine in the restaurant until 7pm. Children must remain seated at all times. The bar is strictly over 18s. We operate a Challenge 25 and a No I.D – No Sale policy to ensure that we are keeping within the Licensing Regulations. DRESS CODE We at the Black Iron encourage guests to dress up when dining and operates a dress code in the restaurant and bar. A smart dress code is upheld in the Restaurant during lunch and dinner service, however, dinner jackets are not compulsory but we think they look lovely. The bar operates a smart/casual dress code. However baseball hats, trainers & sportswear are not permitted in any public areas


The Black Iron Restaurant can cater for parties of up 40 guests for a sit down dinner for both leisure and corporate occasions. Parties of 10+ are requested to pre-order a minimum of 3 days prior to reservation. A deposit of £10pp is required to secure the booking. Due to high demand for tables we cannot hold tables without a deposit. Deposits will be deducted from the final bill on the night. Deposits will be returned in full from the final bill. Any change in numbers will incur loss of deposit if made within 24hrs of scheduled booking. Deposits are non refundable and non transferable. A Service charge of 10% is added to bills for parties of 10+ which is always greatly appreciated by our waiting staff and kitchen team. If there are any cancellations on the day, pre-ordered food will be charged at full price.


Celebrating a special occasion? We can provide a cake for the table for a small charge or you can bring your own. There is a cakeage fee of £3 p.p if you were to bring your own. If you would like to decorate your table with banners or balloons feel free to mention this when booking. Unfortunately our staff are unable to blow up balloons for tables but if you would like to arrive slightly earlier to get this done we can advise you on what time would be best. We are sorry to say that glitter, sequins or confetti are not allowed to be used when decorating a table. We take a strong stand on being as environmentally friendly as possible, due to the effect these items have on our environment we do not allow such decorations.
