Welcome to The City Rooms

The City Rooms is a Georgian, Grade 1 listed wedding venue and banqueting hall with boutique bedrooms in the heart of Leicester city centre.

After a careful two year restoration and refurbishment project The City Rooms has been brought back to life. Opening its doors once again for business in October 2006, it is now a very popular venue for weddings, parties, balls and conferences.

This stunning, historic venue attracts guests from all over the East Midlands and further afield. Built in 1792, it is a venue steeped in history, with many fascinating features, giving evidence of the original plans for the building to become the premier hotel in Leicester. Used primarily as a venue to hold events, The City Rooms is also now open as first intended over two hundred years ago. The four lavishly decorated boutique bedrooms are one of the best kept secrets in the city centre.

The ballroom, with its magnificent windows and grand chandeliers, is a stunning setting for any wedding and is sure to take your breath away. It spans the whole length of the first floor and is 9 metres in height which gives the room a sense of space and grandeur. It can seat up to 200 guests and is often used for the ceremony as well as the wedding breakfast and evening reception. As well as the ballroom we also have a beautifully decorated bar and two other suites, the dining room and the drawing room, which are perfect for more intimate celebrations.
